On March 8 famous graduate of Faculty of Industrial Automation and Electrical Engineering of “LETI” of 1964, Honored figure skating coach of Russia Alexey Mishin turns 75year old.

On March 8 famous graduate of Faculty of Industrial Automation and Electrical Engineering of “LETI” of 1964, Honored figure skating coach of Russia Alexey Mishin turns 75year old. 

During his trainer's career Alexey Mishin prepared a lot of outstanding figure skaters: world champion among juniors Vitaly Egorov, champion of the USSR Yury Ovchinnikov, Olympic champion, champion of Europe Alexey Urmanov, Olympic champions, numerous champions of the world and Europe Alexey Yagudin and Evgeny Plushenko.

Now among Mishin's pupils there are a champion of the world and Europe of 2015 in female single skating Elizabeth Tuktamysheva, the bronze prize-winner of the championship of Russia of 2015 Alexander Petrov, champion of Russia of 2011 among juniors, the finalist of the Russian Cup of 2016 Artur Dmitriyev Jr.

Biography

Alexey N. Mishin is the Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR (1969), the honored trainer of the USSR and Russia, the honored worker of physical culture of Russia (2002), the candidate of pedagogical sciences (1973).

He was born on March 8, 1941 in Sevastopol. He started training of figure skating in 1956. He began to train together with figure skater Tamara Moskvina. Mishin and Moskvina won a rank of champions of the USSR (1969), became silver prize-winners of the World Cup (1969), silver (1968) and bronze (1969) prize-winners of the European championship. In 1969 Mishin and Moskvina left big-time sports and started trainer's work.

In 1964 Alexey Mishin graduated from Leningrad Electrotechnical institute. In 1973 he defended master's thesis at National state university of physical culture, sport and health of Lesgaft. He is the candidate of pedagogical sciences. He Is engaged in teaching activity, he is the head of Department of theory and technique of speed skating and figure skating on the skates of National state university of physical culture, sport and health of Lesgaft, professor, author of a number of fundamental monographs and textbooks on figure skating on the skates.

Alexey Mishin is the member of trainer's Federation Council of figure skating on the skates of Russia, figure skating coach of a national team of Russia.

He was awarded by the Orders of Friendship of the people (1994), Friendship (2006), "For merits before the Fatherland" the IV degrees (2014), a medal of the award "For Merits before the Fatherland" of the II degree (2010).

In 2015 Mishin was recognized as the best trainer of the year according to the All-Russian competition "Sports Elite".

Twice he was awarded honorary title of the government of St. Petersburg “The best in sport of St. Petersburg" (2006, 2012) and also the medal "For Merits for St. Petersburg" (2011).
