Citizens of 14 countries to an ETU summer school
Professional summer schools for international students officially started at ETU “LETI” on July 2nd 2018.
At the biomedical engineering summer school students will get into computer analysis of biomedical data, ways of utilizing robots and other modern technologies in rehabilitation and prosthetics.
The course is implemented at the Department of Biotechnical Systems and is supervised by Zafar M. Yuldashev, D. Sc. in Engineering, Professor, Head of Department.
At the software engineering summer school participants will get acquainted with ways to develop integrated software and embedded programming for microcontrollers (MCU). They will also acquire essential software engineering skills in such emerging domains as IoT and ROS.
The course is implemented at the Department of Software Engineering and Computer Application and is supervised by Kirill V. Krinkin, Associate Professor, Head of Department.
Participants will also be provided with guided tours around St. Petersburg, Tsarskoe Selo and Peterhof.
The opening day agenda consisted of tours around the university and Alexander Popov Museum Laboratory. The first lecture was on the basics of the Russian language and culture.
This is the second summer school the International Students Office of ETU “LETI” has arranged so far. Eleven students and professionals from Armenia, Germany, Denmark, India, Korea, Mexico, Serbia, the USA and France participated in summer schools last year. This year more application forms were submitted than ever before. About 30 students and young professionals came to ETU from Austria, the UK, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, China, Lithuania, Nigeria, Slovakia, South Korea, Peru, Tunisia, the USA and Uzbekistan. Summer schools will last for 2 weeks and end on July 13th with a certification ceremony.
