International Students' Day
ETU celebrated the International Students' Day together with foreign students of St. Petersburg higher education institutions.
On November 17, 2017 foreign students of ETU “LETI” and other universities of Saint Petersburg celebrated the International Students' Day, which was organized with the assistance of Committee on Science and Higher Education of St. Petersburg in the White hall of Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University.
The holiday consisted of an interactive exhibition and a concert where the guests got acquainted with the culture of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, China, Vietnam, India and Mozambique. During the exhibition foreign students shown national suits, souvenirs, games and dishes of the ethnic cuisine. At a concert children showed the audience creative performances in the form of video presentations, recitation in native language, national songs and dances which expressed culture of their countries.

After the performances all participants were handed memorable diplomas.
The International Students' Day was founded in memory of Czech patriotic students in 1941 at the international meeting of students of the countries fighting against fascism, which took place in Great Britain. It was confirmed only in 1946 on the World congress of students in Prague. Since then the day is celebrated annually.
