QS World University Ranking: solid growth of ETU among the best higher education institutions of BRICS countries

 ETU "LETI" improved its positions in the ranking of leading universities of BRICS countries according to ”Quacquarelli Symonds QS” agency.


Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) published the ranking of 300 best higher educational institutions of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Following the analysis of results of educational and scientific activities for 2017 ETU “LETI” ranked 106th. In comparison with last year, the university rose more than by 15 positions.

QS University Rankings of BRICS countries envelops such aspects as researches, training, competitiveness of graduates in labor market and international cooperation. Eight indicators are used in this ranking: academic reputation which defines the most successful universities in this or that area; reputation among employers reflecting judgement of experts on the best university graduates; ratio of scientific and pedagogical composition and students; a share of employees with an academic degree of the candidate of science; number of publications indexed by the Scopus database on one employee; number of citings on one article indexed by the Scopus database; share of foreign employees and share of foreign students.

The first four places in the rating of QS University Rankings: BRICS occupied higher education institutions of China – National Tsing Hua University (Beijing), Peking University, Fudan University (Shanghai) and the University of Science and Technology of China (Hefei). The Lomonosov Moscow State University which was at the fifth place became the best of 58 Russian higher education institutions provided in the rating of 2017.
