The first German diploma at ETU
The joint Russian-German Engineering faculty of ETU and TU of Ilmenau for the first time handed over the Diploma of Master's degree.
The joint Russian-German Engineering faculty of the Saint Petersburg State Electrotechnical Univeristy and Ilmenau University of Technology based in ETU for the first time handed over the Diploma of Master's degree. Yulia Lapteva, a student of the Faculty of Computing Technologies and Informatics, became the owner of the Diploma of Ilmenau University of Technology. The last year of her Master program at the ETU Yulia spent in Germany in Ilmenau city where she defended her Master's thesis. The topic of thesis was "The wireless touch networks established in cars".
Together with German Diploma, Yulia will soon receive the second Diploma of the ETU, without which the first Diploma is invalid.
At the ceremony of Diploma Delivery Yulia was congratulated on her graduation by the Deputy Dean for study of graduate students of the Faculty of Computing Technologies and Informatics Sergey Pavlov, Yulia's research supervisor at Ilmenau Univeristy of Technology professor Hannes Topfer, the director of DAAD information center in St. Petersburg Michael Klyayneberg, and also the deputy head of economy department of the Consulate general of Germany in St. Petersburg Dirk Tsirpka.
Let us remind, the join Russian-German Engineering faculty of the ETU and TU of Ilmenau was founded this summer by signing a contract on cooperation between the Saint Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI" and Ilmenau Univeristy of Technology. The Faculty is engaged in organization and coordination of collaboration between these universities on preparation of graduate students. Studying at the Russian-German Engineering Faculty students can have a chance to spend one or two semesters at the Ilmenau University of Technology in Germany and have a scholarship. Graduate students of the faculty will get two diplomas: Diploma of the ETU and Diploma of TU of Ilmenau.
For to be a student of the Russian-German Engineering Faculty, a candidate should successfully complete a Bachelor's degree program and enter a Master's degree program. Beside that, a candidate should have a good knowledge of German or English language. After the first year of the Master's degree program a candidate will have an interview with the represantative of the Ilmenau University of Technology.
