12th of July ETU visited Mr. Oshadhi Alahapperuma - Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in the countries of Scandinavia and the Baltic Region - graduate LETI.
students achieve success in various spheres of life. The confirmation of this
thesis became the unofficial visit of Mr. Oshadhi Alahapperuma - Ambassador of
the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Scandinavia and in the Baltic
Region. Visiting St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University was included in the program of the visit of
the Ambassador to our city on his personal request. Reason of the interest
simple and pleasant - Mr. Ambassador is a graduate of Faculty of a Radio Engineering
and Telecommunications of ETU in 2002.
The Ambassador visited the Department of Radio Technical Systems, and talked to lectures and classmate, working in the Department, shown interest to the current state of teaching of familiar disciplines.
During the meeting with the Chancellor of ETU M. Kutuzov Oshadhi Alahapperuma expressed regret that the number of students from Sri Lanka over the past years greatly reduced. If in the years of study Ambassador in LETI studied about 50 students of Sri Lanka, now in the ranks of the students of LETI only one student from this Republic. During the conversation with the Chancellor the Ambassador took a voluntary commitment contribute to the advancement of studying in ETU young people of his Republic and to intensify contacts of the University with Sri Lankan public and commercial structures involved in the offer of the foreign educational services in Sri Lanka.
