Youth science was discussed at LETI
Round table "Youth in scientific, technological and innovation activity" was held within the frameworks of VIII Congress of St. Petersburg "Vocational education, science, innovation in the twenty-first century" at LETI.
Round table "Youth in scientific, technological and innovation activity" was held within the frameworks of VIII Congress of St. Petersburg "Vocational education, science, innovation in the twenty-first century" on October 24 in the Reading Room №1 at LETI. Moderators of this event were Vice-Rector for Research M. J. Shestopalov and Director of University Technopark B.A. Novikov.
Rector of LETI V.M.Kutuzov opened the meeting, which was attended by over 60 representatives of research and innovation infrastructure of universities, research organizations, industry, government and management, the union of young scientists and young researchers. During the roundtable participants discussed how to motivate young people to scientific creativity present conditions, what students think about modern science, how to develop young people's capacity for unconventional thinking.
In the frameworks of the Congress roundtables on this day were held simultaneously in three high schools of the city. Their participants discussed the following topical issues: "Ensuring of the economy with qualified personnel training system", "Priorities in scientific, technological and innovation activities" and "International cooperation and competition in science and education in modern conditions." Also on this day meeting of youth Discussion Club “The quality of education: college - student - employer - society."
On the second day of the Congress, on October 25 in the assembly hall of the National University of mineral resource "Gorniy" a plenary meeting of the Congress in which following members will participate: members of the Government of St. Petersburg, heads of major universities of St. Petersburg (Mining University, ETU, SPBSUTD, Herzen university), representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation, heads of industrial enterprises.
The Congress was organized by the Committee on Science and Higher Education of St. Petersburg is held in our city for the eighth time. In the course of its work famous scientists and educators together with the rectors of universities, industry representatives and students discuss global issues of vocational education, science and innovation, and global plans on 10-15 years ahead. The Congress aims to strengthen position of St. Petersburg as major center of vocational education, science and innovation; convergence of education, science and business community in matters of professional training, research, innovation policy. Subject of the Congress: development and mutual integration of professional education, research complex and real economic sector.
