15-th International Student Seminar in Microwave and Optical Applications of Novel Physical Phenomena has been held at ETU. The Seminar covered thirteen topics. Students from Russian Federation, Great Britain, Spain, Finland, Turkey, Germany and other European countries have made more 30 presentations.
Twelve students of the Electrotechnical University have presented their research results achieved in new upgraded laboratories of the University. Mr. Mikhail Odit, PhD student of ETU has been awarded the First prize for the best paper.

Professors Erik Kollberg (Sweden) and Alexander Schuchinsky (United Kingdom) have delivered two tutorial lectures. Professor Kollberg devoted his lecture to hot electron mixers for submillimeter wave astronomy. Professor Schuchinsky told about research for modern and perspective metamaterials.
